Writing Again- With Some Changes
I only offer this sorry excuse: News is a beast that has to be constantly fed. Sometimes, at the end of the day my hands are sore from hammering on a keyboard and it feels like my brain has been sucked dry of any cogent thought.
Thank God.
I have been blessed to have learned a craft where I can use my head and my fingers to provide food and shelter for my family. As drained as I feel sometimes, I know it’s not nearly the kind of weariness inside say, someone who lays cement blocks for eight hours-a-day, or someone who works cooking and cleaning in someone else’s home.
With apologies for the hiatus, let’s get started again- with a new look, and some new ideas. And I would especially welcome what YOU have to say.

David, it great to have back writing on your blog - I have missed it - Todd Newsome
This is a comment that comes late, but it, like a dog must leave its mark on the trail… I think.
I really like your style, and figure it comes of years of doing what you do on radio, but what I wonder is, after years of using this style, punchy, informative, twisting and wry, do you begin to think in little snippets like this as well? Do your modes of inner thought become like your daily routine of writing and speaking in the format of Radio’s short, sharp, strong… so that you are constantly slipping into this kind of talk when you converse with a wife, a dog, your God??
I hope this is thought provoking and even answerable; I really like the way you write.
I just went into the updated blogs on the home page and to my great surprise found again your blog… I love your answer! Thanks for offering this.
I am watching a modern version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet right now but stopped listening to his poetry, to read your words. This version of Hamlet is incredible, the language makes me love the possibility of expression. Shakespeare so dense compared to what you are doing with your language gift, yet both of you know a tight and gentle hand on words…
I find your answer wonderful …Love the part about God! Shakespeare might come into my dreams tonight and act jealous, but too bad for him. If he comes, I’ll send him to your dreams for a modern writing lesson. Until later. Peace to you and yours.
The performance of a more profound point of view is best seen in the article.
